Ekspertise
Once upon a time, I led troops as an infantry officer in Iraq and Afghanistan's Helmand Province. Now, as a military researcher and still active duty, I play a part in ensuring that future military leaders at the most senior levels are adequately educated and trained to lead troops and think through future challenges.
I hold an MA in philosophy and a PhD. My research revolves around doctrine and executive decision-making, the need for standards for efficiency against the need for creativity or novel ways of doing things in chaotic or uncertain situations. There is a sweet spot between rational analysis and human intuition. Both approaches are needed in any organisation to succeed in today’s volatile environment.
I teach intelligence analysis and executive decision-making at all levels of warfare.
